How to Achieve the ‘Korean Glass Skin’ Effect?

Insights from Jessica

If you are one of my client’s, you’ll know how much I love Korean skincare and treatments. Korean beauty products and treatments are taking over the world and is expected to continuously have significant growth throughout the years ahead. One thing I love achieving for my clients is the ‘’glass skin’’ look. Let me explain what the term ‘’glass skin’’ means.

Have you ever looked at someone’s face and you see a perfect, flawless, clear, and translucent skin that just glows from afar? Yes, that’s right. That’s the famous look and skin care result we are trying to achieve for all our clients here at Aestha clinic! So, how do we get there? The most important step I always discuss is double cleansing. I always stress the importance of double cleansing and using an oil-based cleanser to strip all the make-up, sunscreen, and excessive products you have on your face first. After using an oil-based cleanser, I recommend using a gentle yet hydrating face wash to deep cleanse the pores that may have residue of previous products.

Korean people usually have a 7-10 step skin care routine for both day and night ranging from cleansing and exfoliating to using different serums, masks, and sunscreens. Here at Aestha clinic, we sell a handful of amazing Korean skin care products; with our snail cream, being the most popular bought product, that helps hydrates and plumps the skin, giving you that healthy glow afterwards.

Now, let us move on to the treatments.

Nano Laser Peels

One of the first steps to achieving Korean glass skin is skin resurfacing using lasers. With those who have experienced years of sun damage, hormonal acne, acne scarring, uneven skin texture and wrinkly skin, this is the number one treatment to have. One of the most popular lasers on the market is CO2 laser. Whilst this isn’t for everyone, results can be noticed almost immediately for those who can have the treatment. It is also a fantastic treatment to stimulate collagen production.

For Nano Laser peels  – the laser energy used is extremly low, but allows active ingredient penetration , hence we combine laser peels with exosomes or PRP.

Profhilo + Skinboosters

Next, we have the injectables. For those who suffer from dry and unhealthy-looking skin, I recommend having injectable hyaluronic acids such as Profhilo or SkinBoosters. Profhilo is a great way to kick start the journey of achieving Korean glass skin, as it helps improve firmness and luminosity and provides an excessive amount of hydration to the skin too. Other skin boosters are equivaly as effective and gives amazing deep hydrated and nourished skin appearance ie Juvederm Volite – loved by Insta famous ladies, Teosyal RHA1 – long lasting deep hydration without an excessive puffiness, Belotero Revive – a nano particles for the most natural hydrated Insta Perfect Look.

SkinBoosters and PRP/iPRF combo

This is a newest version of antiage preventative treatments by adding your own growth factors in the SkinBooster mix, which extended the growth factors effectiveness and not only hydrate but activates your stemcells to release all those natural skinboosting growth factors to stimulate your elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid reserves.

Microneedling and Secret RF

Micro needling is an absolute must when it comes to achieving Korean glass skin. Why? By having micro-needling treatments, it stimulates deeper into the skin’s surface and treats all external factors that are causing the dull and uneven looking skin. Not only that, but it also encourages collagen production – which is an absolute must once we hit our mid-twenties. An all-time favourite treatment of mine would be Secret Pro RF. It is one of our best-selling treatments here at Aestha clinic. The results are unbeatable!

MicroTox

Last but not least, we have something a little different – Microtox/Mesotox. One of the most popular treatments in Korea is Botulinum Toxin, also known as Botox. Now, we all know Botox is known for injecting specific muscles to temporarily relax them, but did you know we can also use micro droplets of Botox very superficially on to the skin to help improve the look of the skin overall? By having Microtox/Mesotox, it can give plumper smother skin, reduces oil and sebum production, reduces the appearance of pours and reduces sweating. By using Microtox and combining it with either Secret PRO RF Microneedling, your step to achieving Korean glass skin is closer!
