EXOSOMES FACIAL REJUVENATION

Exosome facial rejuvenation represents a cutting-edge advancement in stem cell therapy, leveraging the power of ‘communicating vesicles’ instead of actual stem cells to invigorate your skin. These microscopic messengers stimulate your own stem cells to release essential growth factors, promoting natural rejuvenation. Unlike traditional stem cell treatments, exosomes carry minimal risk of triggering autoimmune or allergic reactions, making them a safer choice. Their tiny size allows them to penetrate even the smallest skin injuries, working locally to enhance your complexion and systemically through the bloodstream for comprehensive revitalisation.

What are exosomes?

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles that are released by the mesenchymal stem cells.  They are tiny, no more than 1/1000th of the size of a normal cell, and they contain various proteins, messenger RNA, and microRNA molecules. They do not contain DNA.

The difference between stem cells and exosomes is that they are not actual cells so cannot replicate, do not add volume, or cause host reactions. They act as signallers and regulators for cellular growth and bodily functions.

Exosomes are responsible for intracellular communication in the body and transmit genetic information from one cell to another. Exosomes also release multiple growth factors which are beneficial for important processes in the body. Some of the known growth factors that exosomes produce are:

  • SCF (stem cell factor) – a primary factor for growth and activation of stem cells and melanocyte
  • TGFB3 (transforming growth factor beta-3) – stimulates the conversion of inflammatory cells into anti-inflammatory regulatory cells
  • VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) – regulates angiogenesis and controls the formation of new blood vessels
  • MIP-1 (macrophage inflammatory protein) – responsible for recruiting cells to stimulate healing in the scalp
  • FGF (fibroblast growth factor) – one of the main growth factors that encourage repair and regeneration of various cells and tissues in the body

How exosomes facial rejuvenation work

Exosomes work through angiogenesis (blood vessel growth stimulation), collagen synthesis, and reducing chronic skin inflammation (known as inflammageing process: an age-related increase in the levels of pro-inflammatory markers in blood and tissues).

Exosome facial rejuvenation can increase skin collagen in the treated areas by up to six-fold and also increases elastin levels by up to 300%. All the processes above and an increase in the collagen and elastin levels will result in:

  • reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots
  • improved skin brightness and hydration
  • healthier skin barrier

Exosome therapies usually involve a combination of ablative laser treatments, micro-needling and/or RF micro-needling with exosome application. Exosomes also speed up healing therefore is often used in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and other inflammatory skin condition treatment.
