Natural Enhancement with Collagen Biostimulators
Hybrid Filler (i.e. HArmonyCa)

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are the most popular facial treatments over the last few years. The excess dermal filler use can give you an unnatural appearance, puffiness, and swollen look. How to choose dermal fillers to get natural results? First of all, skin assessment!
It is extremely important to select dermal fillers according to your age and skin type.
In your 20-30
You have toned-up, firm skin with a healthy extracellular matrix.
Your skin is best suited to start with skin boosters, light hydration, and only small amounts of dermal filler for corrections, natural enhancements, and more preventative treatments such as profile or PRP.
In your 30-35
You are starting significantly deplete your hyaluronic acid and elastin, your skin requires more thought through skin care and facial treatments, and you may see first lines and some volume loss
Best-suited treatment: retinol introduction, best Obagi tretinoin, regular SPF.
Laser facials to prevent the cumulative effect of photodamage, collagen stimulation via fractional laser peels and/or chemical light peels in the winter: regular skin boosters such as Profhilo and Juvederm Volite, light cheek enhancement or jawline contour. You may want to consider hybrid fillers too for a more natural effect.
35 and above
You want to be very careful with facial enhancement treatments as skin lost is laxity and in more gentle areas such as tear trough (under eye area) will not be able to hold hyaluronic aciod. The treatments should be formulated to strengthen skin (tretinoin, fractional laser, rf microneedle) with natural collagen biostimulators (nano threads or hybrid fillers).
What distinguishes collagen biostimulators from hyaluronic acid fillers?
Over time, the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin shrink, leading to their relaxation. Some external factors such as prolonged sun exposure, environmental pollution, stress, and others accelerate these processes. Then it is necessary to stimulate fibroblasts – the cells responsible for the production of collagen. Collagen biostimulators are injectable product that contains temporary collagen biostimulator product such as calcium hydroxyapatite, polylactic acid, and PCL materials, which degrades over a period of 6-12 months and in a meantime stimulate your tissue to strengthen extracellular matrix and provide natural volume with skin tightening effects.
What is collagen biostimulators fillers?
The materials have been used in medicine for a long time in the form of sutures and implants, however, in the aesthetic field, it became more popular over the last decade. The first ever collagen biostimulators have been used in 1980s i.e., Sculptra – PLLA. The main disadvantage of collagen biostimulators at that time was granulomatous type side effects, which were primarily generated by the immune system. The hyaluronic acid boom pushed collagen stimulators to the back as they have less visible complications, but a few years down the line we realised that the hyaluronic acid filler pandemic revealed ‘swollen ‘. ‘Blow up’, unnatural effects if overused.

HArmonyCa – the newest generation hybrid fillers!
Hybrid fillers such as HArmoniCa have two ingredients hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite. The combination aims to give you light volume, and hydration as well as skin tightening and toning. HArmoniCa, hybrid fillers reduce the risk of collagen biostimulators and enhance volumetric effects, but preserve a natural filler effect with long-term use through skin extracellular matrix strengthening.
What distinguishes HArmonyCa from other tissue stimulants on the market is its combination with cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for the immediate lifting effect, which is observed immediately after the procedure. Calcium hydroxyapatite has a long-term effect. It stimulates fibroblasts to increase their productivity, which leads to the synthesis of new collagen. The duration of these results is over 1 year.
HArmonyCa strongly potentiates the formation of collagen, and the maximum effect is observed about 3 months after the procedure up to 1.5 years.
1. How the procedure works
The most common indication for the use of hybrid fillers HArmonyCa is the stimulation of collagen genesis i.e., skin tightening effects and facial contouring – jawline and cheeks. The full facial assessment is required to identify skin quality, fat pad position, and age-related volumetric changes.
If a volumetric replacement, lifting, and contouring are required. – HArmoniCa is placed using a cannula. The treatment takes around 30 minutes and the effect lasts 18 months plus.
2. When to use HArmonyCa
- To tighten the skin in the lower half of the face
- To emphasize the contour of the lower jaw
- To correct facial wrinkles in the lower half of the face
